Create a Custom Painting for Your Space

Commissioning a piece of artwork should feel exciting, collaborative, and personal. My goal is to make the process simple and thoughtful from start to finish so that the final painting feels truly special to you and your home.

Each commissioned piece is an original work of art, created by hand using my layered mixed media process. I approach every commission with careful attention to scale, color, texture, and the feeling you want the piece to bring to your space. Commissions typically take 4 to 6 weeks depending on scale and complexity.

Commissioned work is one of my favorite parts of what I do and an important part of my practice. Whether I’m working with an interior designer or a homeowner searching for the right piece, I love creating custom work that feels personal, intentional, and made just for you.

How My Commission Process Works

1. Initial Inquiry

To begin, please reach out through my contact form or email with a few details about what you are looking for. Helpful things to include are:

•    desired size
•    room or space it is for
•    inspiration photos
•    preferred color palette
•    any timing needs

If you have photos of the space, fabric samples, wallpaper, furniture, or other artwork you love, those are always helpful too.

2. Consultation + Direction

Once I receive your inquiry, we will go through the consultation portion together. This is where we define the overall direction of the piece — scale, palette, mood, and how you want it to live in the room. I want the painting to feel intentional and cohesive, while still allowing room for the spontaneity and depth that make original art so special.

3. Pricing + Proposal

After we have discussed the details, I will provide pricing based on the size and scope of the project. Framing can be quoted separately once that decision is made. If everything looks good to you, I will send over a commission contract and a link for the deposit to officially reserve your project on my calendar.

4. Deposit + Booking

A 50 % non-refundable deposit is required to begin. Once the deposit and signed contract are received, your commission is officially booked. At that point, I will gather all final reference materials and begin planning the piece.

5. Creation Process

This is where the painting comes to life. My work is built slowly over time through many layers of mixed media, texture, mark-making, and carefully considered color. I do not rush this process. Each piece evolves gradually and is refined until it feels balanced, finished, and beautiful from every angle. Because of the nature of my work, commissions are guided by the agreed-upon direction but are not exact replicas of previous paintings. Every piece is one of a kind.

6. Progress Update

When the painting has reached a strong point in the process, I will share an update for approval of the overall direction.

7. Final Payment + Delivery

Once the painting is complete, the remaining balance will be due prior to delivery or shipment. From there, we will coordinate local delivery, pickup, or shipping arrangements depending on your location.
